It mainly involves going into a push-up position, jumping up into the air, and then getting back into the same position. 

To do it, touch the floor with your palms shoulder-width apart. Get into a push-up position and do a push. Then stand up and jump into the air with your hands up.

For best results, continue increasing the pace of your movements.  As a beginner, you can aim to do six burpees in one minute.  There is no limit to how many burpees you can do.
