This is a common question mainly because losing belly fat can be quite a struggle, and people are looking for any methods that could work.

Ice packs are thought to help burn belly fat this way; when you get cold, the body works extra hard to heat itself. By doing so, more calories are burnt.  

The process of using ice packs to burn fats is called CoolSculpting and is conducted in hospitals. However, since it is expensive, some people result to doing it at home.

The Truth About Using Ice Packs To Reduce Belly Fat 

The truth is that strapping ice packs around your belly will not give you a flatter tummy unless you target the right layers of fats. 

Fats cells in the body come in colors. The white fat is the most abundant in your body and is used for energy purposes.

There are also brown fat cells whose primary work is to generate heat. It does this by burning calories.  Ultimately, this helps to keep the body temperatures stable. 

Fat freezing usually targets the brown fat layers as they are the ones that regulate the temperature in your body.

Based on this analysis, there is a high chance that you will not be in a position to target the right fat layer when you do this from home. 

This is the reason why using ice packs does not burn belly fat.  You can consider doing CoolSculpting because it targets the right and specific fat layers to burn the belly fat.

Using Ice Packs To Burn Belly Fat Is Not Healthy  

Besides executing the procedure wrongly, using ice packs to freeze belly fat is also not healthy.

When you go through CoolSculpting by a professional, they suck out the frozen fat cells. The other fats cells that remain usually shrink and destroy themselves.

This is something that you would not achieve if you did fat-freezing at home. The furthest you can go is freezing your skin, which will not eliminate the belly fat.

You might also expose yourself to health problems, some of which can be long-term.

Exercises like planks, crunches, burpees, and Russian twists are great for toning the belly area. Also, consider eating foods that contain lots of proteins and vegetables.
